In our second stakeholder workshop we moved from the impacts of different forest management regimes to conservation practices used in production forests. There was a balanced participation from different stakeholder groups, and the discussion around the topic was lively and respectful. What more can one really want?
I love stakeholder workshops as they produce so many insights (or maybe we have just been lucky so far?). We presented our initial ideas regarding the review, and then sat back and listened where the biggest evidence needs lie and how can we respond to them.
It became clear that there is more need for evidence than we have resources. However, through the discussion we agreed to start with a systematic review that will focus on the impact of small-scale habitat protection on biodiversity in boreal zone.
